Social media plays a very important in role when it comes to developing and maintaining an online identity. With a range of options from Facebook and Twitter, to mobile apps like Snapchat and Instagram, we have so many options for building an online presence today than ever before. Social Media is perhaps the most important aspect of building an online identity. It spreads awareness of your presence rapidly and and is the best way to connect with fans of your work.
I believe authenticity is more important than anonymity. I believe those with the most loyal followings are the ones that are also the most authentic. While with anonymity, it doesn't matter as much whether or not you are anonymous, but being authentic is one way to get you to the top.
Good points Hank! I like what you said about people who are more authentic have the most loyal followers. People want to follow people who they believe are being true to themselves. Obviously, it's unrealistic to be 100% authentic online, but those who do the best they can probably get the best responses from their fan bases.
